Finally an update on my ancestral family.

Thomas Candlin x 16 Nov 1807 Whitwell son of Joseph Candlin & Ellen Storey married Millicent Mee x 23 March 1813 Norton Cuckney Notts married 15 July 1834 Norton Cuckney

Charlotte Candlin b 21 Aug 1835 married Thomas Hardwick

Fanny Candlin b 7 Feb 1837, had a daughter Julia Candlin x 25 March 1855 St Lawrence Whitwell (illigitemate) and later married Francis Shaw became a shop keeper and remained in Scarcliffe

Ellen Candlin x 14 Oct 1838 St Lawrence Whitwell married Anthony Bettison & died age 36

Jane Candlin x 12 Sept 1841 St Lawrence Whitwell married Reuben Reddish publicans of the Elm Tree Inn Scarcliffe until her death 1898 age 57

Charles Candlin x 24 April 1843 St Lawrence Whitwell

Lucy Candlin x 28 Dec 1845 St Lawrence Whitwell,never married but had 2 sons (illigitemate) resided with G-parents Thomas & Ann Mee when pregnant with child. Robert Candlin 1861 b 1862. By 1868 son Charles Candlin was born also illigitemate. At this time she became pregnant while she was in service for the Duke of Portland. Charles was handed over to her sister Jane Candlin (Reddish) who brought him up.Lucy died in 1892 age 47 buried Whitwell Cemetary 28 Dec 1892

Charlotte Candlin married Thomas Hardwick son to George Hardwick (tailor) Whitwell & Rebecca ? later to become Rebecca Brearley

Charlotte & Thomas married 18 June 1858 St George Sheffield Yorks Banns,they had 11 known children with first born prior to marriage Mary Ann Candlin x 7 Feb 1858 St Lawrence Whitwell

Sarah Jane Hardwick x St Lawrence & died age 13 buried in Whitwell Churyard

Rebecca Hardwick b 1861 Liverpool died 1862 buried Whitwell Churchyard 18 Sept 1862 age 18mths

Mary Hardwick b 1863 Whitwell   

Thomas Hardwick x 27 Nov 1864 St Lawrence Whitwell died 1869 buried 21 March 1869 Whitwell Churchyard age 4

Rebecca Hardwick b 30 Aug 1866 Whitwell x 3 Jan 1869 St Lawrence Whitwell in 1881 Rebecca was a servant for Thomas & Harriet Rotherham High St Whitwell,Dec 1886 she had married Joseph Hardwick and lived in Palterton Scarcliffe

The Candlin children of Thomas & Millicent  moved to Scarcliffe  with the exception of a few. Fanny's illigitemate daughter Julia married Henry Coupe and remained in Whitwell burial Whitwell Churchyard 20 July 1929

The other attachment is Rebecca Hardwick daughter to Charlotte Candlin & Thomas Hardwick b 1866. It is her portrait which was done prior to her marriage to Joseph.

Taken about the time she was at High St with the Rotherhams. I am happy for you to use this picture for anything of use for your history group as they are so hard to come by. It is taken off the original portrait and can be enlarged quite successfully
